Pearl Making Season

Does anyone feel like they are in the dark..not the depressed kind of dark..but like a seed that has been planted…its dark and dirty..but you are also hopeful of what you will become..or maybe like you are inside an oyster that’s under the water..and you just keep getting hit in the same spot over and over and over again..there’s an irritant present. Maybe you set yourself up in the wrong spot and caused the irritant yourself, or maybe you are in a great spot and the irritant finds you. The foreign object or the irritants job is to hurt you, wear you down, keep you from flourishing, make you feel like a defect, a lemon.. but you are no ordinary oyster. You KNOW you have a purpose. You KNOW you were created for something bigger than you, and so every time that irritant take a stab inside of you, you speak a little truth to it. “I am created for a purpose” .. another stab.. “I am fearfully and wonderfully made” .. another stab.. another stab.. You might get weary some days, but at the end of the day you still believe the truth over yourself. All the while protective layer after protective layer is being formed inside. You get more interwoven with truth. You have to. Protective layer.. Protective layer.. stab.. protective layer.. you wonder will this darkness ever end..but you feel hopeful still.. until one day…you are brought into the light, washed off, and popped open to reveal..not the ugly scars you thought you would have after enduring stab after stab..but a beautiful pearl is revealed instead. A symbol of a beautiful testimony of truth.. “let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

You see our enemy comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy our lives. He is that irritant..the one who whispers lies to make you give up on that dream that God gave you..to say you are not good enough or smart enough to accomplish that. He comes to whisper you will never be healed, you will always be depressed, you will never get ahead financially. I am here to tell you THE DEVIL IS A LIAR. When he comes after you..first of all rejoice that you are valuable enough and have a dream big enough inside of you that the enemy wants to silence you.. and then fight.. speak God’s word to him.. for it is truth.. and the truth shall set you free! God will take everything the enemy meant for evil and turn it for good. The enemy thought he had you down, under the water, hitting you over and over..but God said my child is about to come out of the water with a beautiful pearl inside.

This is for those of you out there like me..still in the dark.. taking the hits..but hopeful in the truth of God’s word..waiting for due season.. waiting for the pearl to be revealed. Silencing the enemy and laughing because I know I have already won because Jesus won. Amen.
